GETTING PRINT TO PRINT IN VALDOCS 1.1X At times the Valdocs 1.1x printing does not want to print. Here is a list of a few things that you can do to try and get it printing again. ASSUMPTIONS: This section assumes that you are already in the Editor to start. See if the spooler is working 1. Since the printing spooler of Valdocs 1.1x also displays the time, the easiest way to see if the spooler is functioning correctly is to check the time. If the time is being displayed, do steps 2 through 6 only and skip to step 11. Getting into SETUP 2. Press MENU. 3. Select enu of Applications. 4. Select EFT Drive. 5. Select SETUP.SYS. 6. Since there are no commands or parameters needed for SETUP, press RETURN again. Turning the time (and spooler) on 7. Once in the SETUP program select ate/Time. 8. Select lock Display until it shows Clock on in VALDOCS and TPM. 9. If the time does not appear in the lower right hand corner of the display within one minute, go to step 18. 10. Press UNDO. Check the printer driver selected 11. Select

rinter type. 12. Make certain that the printer driver matches your printer. If there is no printer driver that will match your printer, select ther. 13. Press UNDO until you return to the Editor and proceed with your printing. If Valdocs 1.1x still does not want to print, go to the next step. Make sure the printer is on line 14. NOTE: Some printers may have an OFF LINE, READY or SELECT button instead of an ON LINE button. Use that button for the next two steps. Press the ON LINE button. 15. If your printer does not start to print right away, press the ON LINE button again and go to the next step. Restarting the spooler 16. You may find a number to the right of the time display. This is the spooler indicator and shows how many documents are waiting to be printed. If the spooler indicator shows that there is at least one document waiting to be printed, press the STOP key. If there are no documents waiting to be printed, then go to step 18. 17. Since you are only trying to restart the spooler, you do not need to stop the printing. Just press UNDO to get the spooler to restart. The master reset 18. Like many other features in Valdocs 1.1x the printing attributes are recorded in the CMOS clock RAM. If after trying this procedure, you find that you still cannot print, you will need to refer to the section "Resetting the CMOS Clock RAM for Valdocs" to do a CMOS reset. Hardware failure 19. If your printer will not print after doing a CMOS reset, you may have a hardware failure.
