Zapple Access from Valdocs 1.1x Hardware Method This technical information is provided by Epson Systems Product Support Group. While it should prove useful to you we cannot guarantee that it will hold true in every instance. W A R N I N G Zapple is the monitor program for the TPM operating system of Valdocs. It is very powerful, therefore, you should be familiar with its commands before you start using them, or at the very least, follow the step-by- step instructions of another paper that tells you how to use it. If misused, it may damage your QX computer. The Dual In-line Package (DIP) that is used in this method is on the back of your QX computer between the speaker control and the monitor port. It contains 8 switches. Getting into Zapple 1. Place switch 2 of the DIP in the DOWN (OFF) position. 2. If the computer is already on, use step A. Otherwise, use step B. A. Place the Valdocs 1.1x System disk in the left drive and press the Reset button. The Reset button is located on the front of the computer below the right disk drive. B. Turn your computer on and place the Valdocs system diskette in the left drive. Instead of loading Valdocs, the computer will only load the Zapple monitor. You may now enter any necessary Zapple commands. Getting back into Valdocs 1.1x 1. When you are through, just place DIP switch 2 back UP (ON). 2. Press the Reset button. Valdocs will now load in its normal fashion. 1 87.7.15
