Bob Here is some information I came across recently that may be of interest to some of the people out there. It came from the Epson Net in Philadelphia. Fm: Gerry Werth WA0LRC 74206,1237 To: ALL I have found a new source for replacement batteries for the Epson PX8 Geneva computer and PF10 disk drive: DC Battery Products, 1433 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul, MN 55108 612-646-7478 -- open 0800-1700 M-F -- ask for Bob Deagle or Dennis Olson Comparative prices (Epson prices per Computer Laboratories, Bloomington, MN; Snyderscope prices per phone quote): PF10 Main Battery, Epson "RBP-001A", 4.8v 1100mAH : Epson ?? Snyderscope $56.00 DC Battery $15.40 (DC rebuilds old battery pack with new cells) PF10 Backup Battery, Epson "RB-302", 4.8v 100mAH : (similar to PX8 backup battery) Epson $59.40 Snyderscope ?? DC Battery $11.00 PX8 Main Battery, Epson "RB-201", 4.8v 1100mAH : Epson $52.25 Snyderscope $35.00 DC Battery $16.00 (estimate) (DC would re-use cable/connector from old battery pack) I just had DC Battery Products replace the Main and Backup batteries from one of my PF10 disk drives. Bob Deagle promised me 2 day turnaround, but he called me first thing the next morning to say that they were ready! They specialize in batteries for medical equipment and other small manufacturers, but also do cordless phone and computer batteries for consumers. They most often need your old battery to determine the packaging configuration. They can do mail-order -- call them for a quote! I plan to go back to them when my PX8 battery dies. They do excellent work! -- gerry Msg#: 6060 *PX8* 08/25/88 02:31:41 (Read 22 Times) From: SEAN MCCROHON To: ALL Subj: 128K ROMS In case anyone is looking, I have located a vendor for 27C010 eproms (128K) for the I drive of the Multi-unit. They are California Microchip (818)998- 1271. They have fifty left for $19.95 each. You`ll still have to get them burned at PXDOCK or Snyderscope or wherever; I still haven`t nailed down the cost of doing that yet. Hope this helps, good luck, Sean. DOC
